C.B. Bernard is the author of Chasing Alaska: A Portrait of the Last Frontier Then and Now (Lyons Press), a Publishers Weekly Top 10 Travel Pick, Amazon bestseller, and finalist for a 2014 Oregon Book Award. A self-described “ink-stained wretch,” he’s made a career as a newspaper and magazine journalist, advertising copywriter, managing editor, communications specialist, and freelance writer and photographer. He’s written for Gray’s Sporting Journal, Catapult, Bear Deluxe, The Adirondack Review, Cobalt, the Huffington Post, and elsewhere, and his work has been excerpted in the Utne Reader. He’s the managing editor for a remarkable nonprofit, and covers the maritime industry as journalist for industry magazines.

Though born and raised in New England, he’s lived most of his adult life in the northwest and currently lives in Portland, OR, with his wife and a temperamental bird dog named Shakespeare. Email him to book him for an author event at your store, book club, or other venue.
